Reliance Ind overtakes ONGC as most-valued company

Reliance Industries has reclaimed the numero-uno position in the domestic market capitalisation charts, racing past state-run ONGC to emerge as the country's most-valued company yet again.

With a market value of Rs 2,42,283 crore at 1027 hours on Monday morning, RIL surpassed ONGC's market cap of Rs 2,38,270 crore to reclaim the top position.

On Friday, ONGC had toppled billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries to claim the title of the country's most-valued company.

Shares of RIL went up by 3.49 percent to touch an early high of Rs 744.65 on the BSE on Monday.

The surge in the bellwether stock was a significant contributor to the overall bullish trend in the market, with the benchmark Sensex trading higher by 348.39 points at 16,197.22 at 1027 hours.

The share price of ONGC, too, rose by 1.43 percent to touch an early peak of Rs 282 on the BSE.

At the end of Friday's trade, RIL had a market cap of Rs 2,35,571 crore, while ONGC commanded a market value of Rs 2,37,842 crore.

RIL had first toppled ONGC to become the country's most-valued firm way back in late 2006, but the state-run energy giant later reclaimed the top position, albeit only for a few brief period.

In the past few days, a veritable game of musical chairs has been played out between the country's most-valued firms on the bourses.

Earlier, on 17th August, state-run Coal India Ltd (CIL) had dethroned RIL to become the country's top-valued firm.

Then, two days later on 19th August, RIL briefly slipped to third position in the valuation charts, after CIL and ONGC, only to reclaim the No. 2 position by the market close.

CIL's stint at the top proved to be short-lived, with RIL reclaiming this position within six days on 23rd August.

A day later, on 24th August, CIL lost further ground and slipped to third position in the valuation charts after RIL and ONGC.

CIL continues to be the country's third-most valued company, with total market capitalisation of Rs 2,31,052 crore on Monday morning.

Russia successfully test-launches ballistic missile

Russia on Saturday successfully test launched its Bulava inter-continental ballistic missile to its maximum range of 8,000 km, in a boost to the country's defence capabilities.

The missile was fired successfully by the White sea-based Russian nuclear submarine Yuri Dolgoruky, the Defence Ministry said today.

The successful launch of the Bulava came after a string of setbacks suffered by this programme.

Only eight of its previous 15 launches were officially declared successful.

"The regular launch of the missile was conducted at 7:20 am Moscow time from a submerged position from the regular carrier in line with the state flight development tests at a maximum flight range of the missile," a defence ministry spokesman was quoted as saying by Russian news agency Ria Novosti.

The missile successfully reached its target in the Pacific Ocean in accordance with the necessary shipping security measures, the spokesman said.

The successful test of the missile was reported to President Dmitry Medvedev by the defence minister Anatoly Serdyukov.

The Bulava, expected to become Russia's main naval strategic missile, is capable of carrying 10 warheads with a range of 8,000 km.

The first test launch from the Yuri Dolgoruky was conducted on June 28, 2011. Before that the missiles were fired from the typhoon-class Dmitry Donskoy submarine.

The three-stage missile is specifically designed for deployment on Borey class nuclear submarines.

Bhaichung bids goodbye to indian football

Former captain and the face of Indian football for major part of the last two decades, star striker Bhaichung Bhutia announced his international retirement on Wednesday, drawing curtains on an illustrious 16-year career.

The 34-year-old, known as the 'Sikkimese Sniper' for his shooting skills, announced his decision during a press meet at the All India Football Federation headquarters in New Delhi.

"I had fantastic 16 years of international football. I enjoyed every moment to have represented the country, to have contributed to the game," Bhaichung said.

Speculation had been rife on the imminent retirement of the talismanic striker, who pulled out of India Under-23 side's tour of England where they will play against Pakistan and England Under-23 next month.

He was struggling with injuries in the past one year and could play for just 15 minutes in the Asian Cup in Qatar in January, the most prestigious event India has ever taken part in the last 27 years.

"Winning the AFC Challenge Cup in 2008, to qualify for the Asian Cup was the best moments of my career and I thought of retiring after playing in that tournament," he said.

"But I could play only 15 minutes in the Asian Cup and I thought it was not the right way to retire. I wanted to continue playing but the last 7-8 months have been frustrating due to lot of injuries. So I have decided to quit," he added.

He was dropped from the Indian squad selected for the 2014 World Cup qualifiers and the preparatory matches.

Bhaichung, however, will continue to play for his club United Sikkim FC which he founded.

"Lots of things in life do not happen the way we wish so I am quitting from international football but will continue playing for my club," he said.

"My commitment and contribution to Indian football will not diminish and I am ready to help the AIFF in whatever way they want me," he said.

The club failed to qualify for I-League this season but he will be keen to take the side to the Federation Cup main round, the qualifiers of which will begin on 8th September.

Bhaichung captained India for over 10 years and scored 43 international goals, more than any other footballer of the country.

He is also the only Indian and one among few international players to have played more than 100 matches for his country.

Under him, India won the South Asian Football Federation Championships thrice, two Nehru Cup titles (in 2007 and 2009) and the 2008 AFC Challenge Cup which gave India the right to play in the Asian Cup this year for the first time after 1984.

The most recognisable face of Indian football, Bhaichung has been decorated with the Arjuna Award and the Padma Shri.

Born on 15th December, 1976 at Namchi, the five feet eight inch Bhaichung made his international debut against Thailand in 1995 and went onto play more than 100 international games.

He reached the milestone during the 2009 Nehru Cup in New Delhi.

He was on the verge of international retirement in 2006 after India had a string of poor shows under coach Syed Nayeemuddin with whom he had serious differences but only to change minds on the plea of then AIFF president Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi and new coach Bob Houghton.

Bhaichung first came to the forefront at the 1992 Subroto Cup in New Delhi where he played for SAI Centre Gangtok. Next year, he was signed on by Kolkata giants East Bengal after his showings in the Subroto Cup and for the National Under-16 team in the Asian Under-16 Cup Qualifiers.

In 1995, Bhaichung, along with a host of other Indian top stars, signed up for JCT Mills of Phagwara and had two very successful seasons with them, among other things winning the first-ever National Football League title, being also the league's top scorer.

In 1997, Bhaichung returned to East Bengal. By this time he had become one of India's top players and in the 1998-99 season he was club captain, one of the youngest ever at 21.

After unsuccessful trials with English Premiership side Aston Villa and Championship clubs Fulham FC and West Bromwich Albion, Bhaichung finally signed for Division Two club Bury FC in 1999 to become the first Indian to play in Europe.

He was with Bury FC for three years till 2002.

Common exam on the anvil for under-graduate programs: Sibal

The Government intends to have a common examination for under-graduate programmes across the country from 2013 and prepare a common merit list as part of efforts to improve quality of education, HRD Minister Kapil Sibal said.

He also told the Lok Sabha on Friday that the government would crack down on fake universities, the practice of taking capitation fee, misleading advertisements and other malpractices regarding which a bill is being brought.

Replying to a debate on a bill to amend the National Institutes of Technology Act, Sibal said the government is keen on improving the quality of education and in this regard world class universities would be set up in the country.

The National Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Bill, 2010, which proposes structural changes in such educational establishments and bringing in its ambit the five Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISERs), was passed by a voice vote later.

Talking about the initiatives taken by government to improve the quality of education, Sibal said there was an effort to provide equal opportunities to both rural and urban students.

He said his attempt was to have common entrance test at under-graduate level from 2013 and then prepare an all-India merit list.

As per the merit, candidates would qualify for prestigious technical institutes, the minister said, adding an expert committee was examining the matter.

To deal with various malpractices like misleading advertisements for technical institutes through which students are fooled, transaction of money "under the table" and charging of capitation fees, Sibal said the government was preparing Education Malpractices Bill which would be brought to Parliament soon.

He said the government wants to check mushrooming of such institutes where the father becomes the Chancellor and son the Vice-chancellor.

"If you do not bring professionalism, how can you run an institute," he asked.

The Minister asked the state governments to be careful while providing the No Objection Certificates to set up technical educational institute, claiming the Central government has not given any NOC to any institute so far.

Pointing out that education was a State subject, he said states have been asked to bring reforms in this sector with a promise that Centre would provide necessary help.

He said government was trying to create an environment in which the private sector can investment enough to set up quality higher education institutes.

"We must expand the environment to allow private sector to set up more quality institutes," he said.

Sibal said India must enhance its academic standard to get its "rightful place in the comity of nations".

He said his Ministry was trying to connect all academic institutes through a dedicated network called National Knowledge Network so that the students can interact with experts of different fields even by sitting in any part of the country.

The amendment Bill provides for strengthening the networking of NITs and the IISERs by giving representation in their Board of Governors to the IIT and also to bring the appointment procedure of the Deputy Director of National Institutes of Technology in line with that of IITs.

When Sibal moved the bill for consideration, BJP member Devji Patel raised a point of order, pointing out that quorum was lacking in the House and this was not right since a government legislation was being taken up.

P C Chacko, who was in the Chair, noted that the House had decided to skip lunch said normally during proceedings at that time, quorum is not taken into consideration.

However, Patel insisted, prompting Chacko to call for quorum.

Soon, a number of ministers, including Pranab Mukherjee and Pawan Kumar Bansal, besides Congress members were seen rushing into the House.

Moving the bill for consideration, Sibal said governance of the 20 NITs need to be streamlined and restructured, which includes changes in the composition of the Board of Governors.

He said that in the 21st century, there was a need for upgrading the quality of educational institutions so that their students are able to compete at international level.

Contending that the students needed to be given necessary infrastructure to realise their dreams, he said the government has done a lot to expand education and there was need to do more for improving quality.

Initiating the debate, Janardhan Swamy (BJP) favoured increased funding of educational institutes to enable them to meet international standards.

No OBC seat in DU to go to general category students: Sibal

Government today made it clear that 27 per cent reservation would be provided by the Delhi University to OBC candidates, a day after the Supreme Court delivered a strong ruling in this regard.

The Supreme Court order on OBC reservation will be fully implemented in the Delhi University, HRD Minister Kapil Sibal told Lok Sabha.

"Not a single seat of the OBC quota will go to the general category students in Delhi University," he said replying to a debate on a Bill to amend the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2010.

The Supreme Court yesterday held that the eligibility criteria for OBC category students would not be decided on the basis of last cut-off for general category students.

It said the eligibility percentage for admission of the OBC candidates under 27 per cent quota in Central universities would be at most 10 per cent less than that of general category students.

The verdict put at rest the confusion prevailing over the implementation of the April 10, 2008 judgement on the issue as different central educational institutions were adopting varying yardsticks for giving admission to the OBC candidates.

Eligibility for OBCs at most 10% less than gen category:SC

The Supreme Court on Thursday held that the minimum eligibility percentage for admission in central universities for OBC category should be at most 10 per cent less than that of general category students.

A bench headed by Justice R V Raveendran said that the eligibility criteria for OBC category students should not be decided on the basis of admission given to the last candidate in general category.

The bench, however, clarified that there would be no disturbances in the admissions which have already been done by the universities for this academic session.

The court's clarification came a petition filed by P V Indersan, a former professor of IIT Madras, seeking its direction in the light of discrepancies in implementation of OBC quota in different educational institutions.

Indersan had approached the apex court challenging a Delhi High Court judgement which said the cut-off marks for OBC candidates should be 10 per cent less than the minimum eligible marks for general category candidates.

He pointed out that there are discrepancies in implementing OBC quota in central universities.

He had submitted that Delhi University is following a different yardstick by which the gap in cut-off for OBC students and general category students should not be more than 10 per cent where as in JNU, the practice of 10 per cent relaxation in minimum eligibility criteria is being followed.

The apex court, after hearing all the sides, upheld the Delhi High Court order.

Permission for Ramlila ground with conditions till 2nd Sept: Govt

Permission has been given to Anna Hazare and his associates for his fast at Ramlila Maidan till 2nd September and it is conditional, Home Secretary R K Singh said on Thursday.

He said the government was not involved in any discussion with Team Anna and it was the Delhi Police which held the talks and resolved the issue amicably.

"The Delhi Police discussed with Team Anna and, thereafter, they have come to a decision. What the Delhi Police conveyed to the Ministry of Home Affairs is that the permission was given till September two on the usual sort of conditions," he told reporters in New Delhi on Thursday.

Singh said it was not proper to say the agreement was a victory for one side and defeat for the other "but the basic issue was that permission for certain ground and certain period was given with some sort of conditions. If someone is saying that this is a victory or something, this is not the right way to say. This is not a question of victory or defeat," he said.

The Home Secretary said conditions of a particular ground mandated a certain size of crowd as well as of available parking.

"An agreement has been reached on another ground and the size of that ground is much larger. So the size of the crowd does not matter," the Home Secretary said, referring to Ramlila Maidan.

He said, "Conditions are there. Some conditions remain same. For example, the condition of using loud speakers remains the same as the condition imposed for the earlier ground. The condition that the doctors will examine remains the same. Doctors will examine. The organisers and the Delhi Police have agreed to these conditions."

Singh said Team Anna has to make its own arrangements on basic issues and whenever the ground would be ready, they would go there.

"The issue has been resolved by the Delhi Police through negotiation and through complete understanding. It was good," he said.

Hazare to go to Ramlila Maidan tomorrow

Anna Hazare will launch his protest at Ramlila Maidan on Friday as the venue is yet to get readied for the fast and will stay for one more night in Tihar Jail, activist Arvind Kejriwal said.

"I spoke to Annaji. In view of the conditions at Ramlila Maidan, Annaji will reach Ramlila Maidan tomorrow," Kejriwal said.

Another Hazare associate Kiran Bedi said the Gandhian will not move out of Tihar Jail till he embarks on his journey to Ramlila Maidan to launch the protest.

Hazare reached an agreement with Delhi Police early Thursday morning on the protest venue and the conditions.

As soon as Hazare announced that he would move to Ramlila, MCD which owns the ground deployed around 100 workers to clean the facility but the work was so massive that they could not finish it by the afternoon as desired by the Gandhian's team.

Earlier, Bedi had said that Hazare will go to the Maidan after 3 pm on Friday.

Hazare was lodged in Tihar Jail on Tuesday evening after he was detained for going ahead with his plans to defy prohibitory orders in J P Park in New Delhi.

However, he was released later but he refused to come out of the prison demanding that there should not be any restrictions on his protest.

After hard bargaining for two days, Hazare and Delhi Police reached an agreement early Thursday morning under which Delhi Police removed all restrictions and allowed him to carry out his hunger strike for 15 days in the spacious Ramlila Maidan.

The breakthrough came in the wee hours of the day after top aides of Hazare met Delhi Police Commissioner B K Gupta.

Place of Birth: Sitabdiara , Saran District, Bihar, India
Place of Death: Patna, India

Life and Journy of Jayaprakash Narayan

Jayaprakash Narayan (widely known as JP) Indian nationalist and social reform leader, was India's leading indigenous critic after Mohandas Gandhi.

A disciple of Mohandas Gandhi and leader of India's independence movement, Jayaprakash Narayan remained a rebel in his native land until the end of his life. Born of middle-caste Hindu parents in a small village in Bihar on Oct. 11, 1902. His father Harsudayal was a junior official in the canal department of the State government and was often touring the region. Jayaprakash, called Baul affectionately, was left with his grandmother to study in Sitabdiara. There was no high school in the village, so Jayaprakash was sent to Patna to study in the Collegiate School. He excelled in school. His essay, "The present state of Hindi in Bihar", won a best essay award. He entered the Patna College on a Government scholarship.

He became politically active in high school. Just before his graduation, he followed the call of Indian nationalists to quit British-assisted institutions. In 1922, he went to the United States, where he studied political science and economics at the universities of California, Iowa, Wisconsin and Ohio State.

Jayaprakash Narayan joined "Bihar Vidyapeeth" that was founded by Dr. Rajendra Prasad for motivating young talented youths and was among the first students of renowned Gandhian Dr. Anugrah Narayan Sinha, a close colleague of Mahatma Gandhi In 1920 Jayaprakash married Prabhavati Devi. His wife was also a freedom fighter in her own right and a staunch disciple of Kasturba Gandhi. Prabhavati was the daughter of lawyer and nationalist Brij Kishore Prasad, one of the previous Gandhians in Bihar.

In 1922, Narayan went to the United States, where he worked to support his studies in political science, sociology and economics at the University of California, Berkeley, University of Iowa, University of Wisconsin–Madison and Ohio State University. He adopted Marxism while studying at the University of Wisconsin–Madison under sociologist Edward A. Ross; he was also deeply influenced by the writings of M. N. Roy. Financial constraints and his mother's health forced him to abandon his wish of earning a PhD. He became acquainted with Rajani Palme Dutt and other revolutionaries in London on his way back to India.

After returning to India, Narayan joined the Indian National Congress on the invitation of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1929; M. K. Gandhi became his mentor in the Congress. He shared the same house at kadam kuan in Patna with his close friend and nationalist Ganga Sharan Singh (Sinha). with whom he shared the most cordial and lasting friendship.During the Indian independence movement he was arrested, jailed, and tortured several times by the British. He won particular fame during the Quit India movement.

After being jailed in 1932 for civil disobedience against British rule, Narayan was imprisoned in Nasik Jail, where he met Ram Manohar Lohia, Minoo Masani, Achyut Patwardhan, Ashok Mehta, Yusuf Desai and other national leaders. After his release, the Congress Socialist Party, or (CSP), a left-wing group within the Congress, was formed with Acharya Narendra Deva as President and Narayan as General secretary.

During the Quit India Movement of 1942, when senior Congress leaders were arrested in the early stages, JP, Lohia and Basawon Singh (Sinha) were at the forefront of the agitations. Leaders such as Jayaprakash Narayan and Aruna Asaf Ali were described as "the political children of Gandhi but recent students of Karl Marx." He was also a great advocate of co.relation "SAHJEEVAN"

Initially a defender of physical force, Narayan was won over to Gandhi's position on nonviolence and advocated the use of satyagrahas to achieve the ideals of democratic socialism. Furthermore, he became deeply disillusioned with the practical experience of socialism in Nehru's India.

After independence and the death of Mahatma Gandhi, Narayan, Acharya Narendra Dev and Basawon Singh (Sinha) led the CSP out of Congress to become the opposition Socialist Party, which later took the name Praja Socialist Party. Basawon Singh (Sinha) became the first leader of the opposition in the state and assembly of Bihar and Acharya Narendra Deva became the first leader of opposition in the state and assembly of U.P. His party is the first national party who distributed tickets on caste line.

Google to buy Motorola Mobility in biggest deal ever

NEW YORK/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Google Inc's biggest deal ever, acquiring Motorola Mobility Holdings Inc for $12.5 billion, is an attempt to buy insurance against increasingly aggressive legal attacks from rivals such as Apple Inc.

The acquisition of one of the mobile telecommunications industry's most storied names is Google co-founder Larry Page's boldest move since taking over as CEO in April, launching the Internet giant into a lower-margin manufacturing business and pitting it against many of the 38 other handset companies that now use its Android software.

Motorola Inc was split this year into two: Motorola Mobility, which got the faster-growing cellphone and TV set-top box businesses; and Motorola Solutions, which sells gear like walkie-talkies to corporate and government clients.

Google is paying a massive 63 percent premium to gain access to one of the mobile phone industry's largest patent libraries. The company had been under pressure to build a patent portfolio after losing out to Apple, Microsoft Corp and others in a recent auction of bankrupt Nortel's assets.

Unlike the Nortel deal and others, the fact that Google avoided having to compete in an auction for Motorola by engaging in exclusive negotiations for the company underscores the pressure it was under to bolster its patent portfolio. Paying such a rich premium even though it was the only buyer dovetails with analysts' view that the increasingly litigious posture its competitors have taken over intellectual property left the Internet search giant with no choice but to pay up.

"No matter how you think about this, you have to look at it through the spectrum of the Android ecosystem under incredible attack from an IP (intellectual property) perspective. And this is Google going out and trying to fix that," said W.P. Stewart Advisors Chief Investment Officer Jim Tierney. "The biggest implication here is that Google wants Android to be one of the dominant phone operating systems for years to come."

Wall Street quickly anointed Microsoft a winner in this deal, with Windows benefiting should the move spur current Android partners to explore other options.

The deal also stoked speculation that struggling Nokia and Research in Motion would become takeover targets themselves, sending Nokia's shares up 17.35 percent and RIM's up 10.3 percent.

Google made its first foray into hardware by co-developing the Nexus One phone with HTC in 2010 -- an effort that met mixed results. Monday's deal, however, could mark the start of a shift to an Apple-style model, integrating mobile hardware with underlying software.

"Google decided to cross the Rubicon on the device side," said Fred Huet, head of telecoms and media consultancy Greenwich Consulting. "There has been growing frustration (at Google) about the lack and speed of internet centric devices.

"With Nexus they tried to show the industry what they thought was the right evolution for handsets and it did not have an impact .... With the patents they make sure that Android stays strong."

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE ...

The acquisition is likely to draw even closer regulatory scrutiny than usual, with the search leader already the subject of antitrust inquiries. Experts will want to review how it affects mobile industry competition.

But the deal -- which took Wall Street by surprise -- appears to mark a shift in strategy from Google's traditional Internet search and advertising empire and forays into video and social networking.

"The danger is that other handset makers feel disenfranchised," said Nomura Securities global technology specialist Richard Windsor. "Motorola is the weaker player. This could actually collapse the entire community."

Page, who also launched the ambitious Google+ social network since taking over as CEO, reassured investors on Monday this would not happen, saying Motorola will be run as a separate company licensing Android software in the same way as rivals like HTC Corp and LG Electronics.

Phone makers including Samsung officially said they welcomed a deal that will aid their own legal battles, but some analysts questioned the sincerity of those claims, noting that rival companies would now be unlikely to heavily promote Android since it would benefit a direct competitor.

Andy Lees, president of the Windows Phone Division at Microsoft, said in a statement that, "Investing in a broad and truly open mobile ecosystem is important for the industry and consumers alike, and Windows Phone is now the only platform that does so with equal opportunity for all partners."

Some analysts also doubt that Google will continue manufacturing handsets in the long term.

"We don't think they necessarily want to be in the handset business. They want those patents first and foremost," said Brian Pitz, an analyst at UBS. "This is really a game of protection."

Analysts say that Google's rivals are likely to continue to enforce their patent rights on mobile devices through legal means. Microsoft, for instance, recently settled a lawsuit with HTC over the Taiwanese company's Android devices. Oracle is also seeking billions of dollars from Google for infringing on Java patents. Analysts expect Apple to continue its increasingly effective patent war against its rivals as well, which could hurt Google by potentially raising licensing costs that need to be paid to Apple.

While Apple's iPhone leads in market prestige and is considered more innovative, Android has managed to quietly surpass it in market share. Android held a 43.4 percent share of the smartphone market at the end of the second quarter, ahead of Nokia's 22 percent, according to Gartner data. Apple ranked third with 18 percent, the data showed.

Shares of Motorola Mobility jumped more than 55 percent on the news, while Google shares fell by roughly 1 percent.

The deal values Motorola Mobility at $40 per share in cash, a 63 percent premium to its Friday closing price. The terms of the deal also features an unusually rich reverse breakup fee of $2.5 billion, according to a source close to the situation.

"It's a deal that will take time to pay off, but they have a lot of cash and they want to chase after profit," BGC Partners analyst Colin Gillis said.

The deal delivers a windfall for investors including Carl Icahn, Motorola's top shareholder with a stake of just over 11 percent. The activist shareholder had been urging Motorola to look into splitting off its patent business -- one of the biggest in the industry -- from its handset business, ranked eighth in the world by Gartner in terms of unit sales. In late July, Icahn even went so far as to estimate that Motorola could be worth $44 per share, or $13 billion in a sale.

Despite cashing out for $4 less than what he estimated the company was worth, Icahn said he was "quite happy with this result."

It's unclear how much Icahn spent on his stake in Motorola since he started scooping up shares in 2007, but regulatory filings indicate it may have been about $3 billion. His stake in Motorola Mobility is worth about $1.34 billion at the deal price, up by $520 million since Friday. Including his stake in Motorola Solutions, Icahn's total stake is about about $2.9 billion in the two companies.

INTO THE LIVING ROOM

As part of the deal, Google also gets Motorola's set-top box businesses, giving its nascent TV operation a much-needed boost by providing it with a more direct route into the home.

Bernstein analyst Craig Moffett noted that Google, a frequent disrupter of the pay-television market via its ownership of YouTube and launching of over-the-top TV products that allow consumers to get streaming video in the home, will now be one of its largest suppliers.

"It will be fascinating to see whether this tempers their enthusiasm for disruptive business models as they have to face the practical realities of satisfying their cable customers," said Moffett. "I think the cable industry would be delighted to see Google inside the tent."

Google said it expects the deal to close by the end of 2011 or early in 2012, and that it was confident it would gain the regulatory approvals required in the United States and Europe and the blessing of Motorola Mobility's shareholders.

Others aren't so sure.

"The legal question here is would this deal give Google the incentive to make Android less open or somehow discriminate against the other smart phone and tablet makers," said Beau W. Buffier, a lawyer with Shearman & Sterling LLP. "That will be the key issues in any review both here in the U.S. or in Europe."

The fact that the deal has the support of other major mobile device players who have a stake in the matter should help Google in the regulatory process.

Lazard advised Google on the deal, while Motorola used Centerview Partners and Frank Quattrone's Qatalyst Partners, sources told Reuters.

Hazare free to go wherever he wants to: Govt

The Government on Wednesday said Anna Hazare was free to go wherever he wants to and that Delhi Police will take a decision on whether he will be allowed to hold protest at J P Park in New Delhi.

Union Home Secretary R K Singh said since Hazare has been released he is free to go wherever he wants to.

"He is in the office of the DIG, Tihar Jail. He rested at night and he and his supporters have been given a hall...I am quite sure that Delhi Police officers have been talking to him," he told reporters in New Delhi on Wednesday.

"He has been released. He can go wherever he wants, he is free and officers from Delhi Police will be asking him where he wants to go," Singh said.

On Anna's demand to protest at JP Park, the Home Secretary said the Delhi Police will take a call on the issue.

The 73-year-old Gandhian, who was ordered to be released on Tuesday after being remanded in 7-day judicial custody, spent the night in the administrative block of the jail along with his associate Arvind Kejriwal.

Hazare was offered released on Tuesday night after the Delhi Police issued warrants of release for him and seven of his associates, almost 13 hours after they were detained.

However, Hazare made it clear that he would come out of the prison only if he is given permission to stage the indefinite fast at the Jai Prakash Narain Park, the original planned venue for the hunger strike.

Defiance of police order by Anna Hazare not acceptable: Govt

In a clear indication of change in strategy in tackling Anna Hazare's protest over Lokpal Bill, govt refrained from making any personal attack on the activist but justified his arrest saying defiance of police order was not acceptable in democracy.

"This is not a pleasant task and none of us is happy trying to explain the circumstances under which certain events have taken place. It is a painful duty and we are performing it with the seriousness it deserves," Home Minister P Chidambaram told reporters.

At the same time, he strongly defended Hazare's arrest saying the action was taken by the Delhi Police after it came to a conclusion that he and his supporters would commit a "cognisable offence" by defying prohibitory orders.

Addressing the media along with HRD Minister Kapil Sibal and I&B Minister Ambika Soni, Chidambaram said that the government did make an effort to reach out to him yesterday but the meeting did not materialise.

"Yesterday, there was an attempt to meet Hazare, but that was not possible".

This morning police officer met Hazare and drew his attention to his statements that he and his supporters would defy the orders and asked him what his intentions were.

"Hazare said he was proceeding to Jaiprakash Narain Park to defy the orders. At that time, police came to the conclusion that he and his supporters would commit a cognisable offence and there could be likely breach of peace and they decided to take action under Sections 107 and 151 of the CrPC," he said

The Union Ministers, while disagreeing with Hazare's method for bringing the Lokpal Bill, made it clear that they shared the activist's concern on corruption.

"We are on Anna's side and Anna is on our side (as far as fight against corruption is concerned)," Sibal said adding that the disagreement was over Team Anna's insistence on accepting their Bill or no other Bill.

Chidambaram also admitted that there was "great deal of angst and anger" among people on corruption and termed the Lokpal as "not a panacea but one of the answers" to deal with the menace.

The change in strategy appears after Rahul Gandhi's meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday which was followed up with discussions with UPA troubleshooter Pranab Mukherjee and Chidambaram in Parliament today.

In a marked difference from the earlier attack on Hazare by the party, Soni said the activist was a "reputed person" and the government trusted his word on protest being peaceful.

She, however, said that no one can guarantee that there cannot be any problem when such large number of people gather at place as people seated on a dias do not have control on each and every person participating in an agitation.

While making no personal attack on Hazare, Soni said he may have been ill-advised by his colleagues former IPS officer Kiran Bedi and senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan "who understand law".

Sibal also pointed out towards media reports that Bedi was accompanied by two BJP leaders when she was stopped by the police at Raj Ghat.

Replying to a volley of questions, Sibal said "right to protest is a Constitutional right and no government can be against it."

He, however, added that while there were Constitutional rights on one hand, on the other there is Constitutional responsibility.

Echoing similar views, Chidambaram said the UPA government was not against peaceful democratic protests.

"They are part of the Constitutional rights of the citizen. We acknowledge that right and respect that right. But that right must be exercised under certain reasonable conditions," he said.

Chidambaram also said that the government has no problem if Hazare wants his version of the Lokpal Bill but added that other civil society activists like Aruna Roy, Harsh Mander and Nikhil Dey have also talked to the government on the issue.

He insisted that the only way a law can be made in this country is by making it in Parliament.

"But if laws are not to be made by Parliament but by some social activists in a maidan, however well meaning they are, outside Parliament, then it is beyond my comprehension," he said.

"If laws are to be made by Parliament, government has done everything possible to facilitate the making of that law. We are on record saying, we will make every endeavour to get that bill out of the standing committee as early as possible and pass it in Parliament as early as possible. We have done nothing to impede the progress of the Bill," Chidambaram said.

Sibal said that the Chairman of a Parliamentary standing committee examining the Lokpal bill had invited Team Anna for another round of discussions.

Hazare refuses to leave jail unless allowed to fast without conditions

Social activist Anna Hazare, who was arrested by the Delhi Police yesterday morning shortly before he was to begin an indefinite fast at the JP Park in the capital on the Lokpal issue, was freed late last night but he has refused to leave Tihar Jail unless he was allowed to stage his protest at the same venue without any conditions.

Mr Hazare's aide Manish Sisodia, who was among those arrested and freed yesterday, told mediapersons outside Tihar Jail that the veteran Gandhian would remain in jail unless the authorities gave him written permission to launch an indefinite fast at JP Park.

Mr Sisodia said some of Mr Hazare's colleagues in the agitation, such as senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan, former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Kiran Bedi and social activist Swami Agnivesh, were due to meet him in jail today.

According to Mr Sisodia, Mr Hazare spent the night in the room of one of the jail officials.

Meanwhile, Union Home Secretary R K Singh told reporters that Mr Hazare had already been released from jail and he was free to go anywhere. He said the police and jail officials would hold talks with him in an effort to persuade him to leave the jail.

Asked about Mr Hazare's insistence on continuing his fast at the JP Park, Mr Singh said that it was something that he would have to discuss with the Delhi Police officials.

Meanwhile, hundreds of his supporters had gathered outside Tihar Jail to express their solidarity with him.

Mr Hazare was detained from outside the residence of lawyer Prashant Bhushan at Mayur Vihar at around 0730 hrs. yesterday after he told the police that he intended to go ahead with his fast despite the fact that the police had denied him permission to do so.

The authorities had denied him permission to hold the fast because he and his colleagues had refused to agree to some of the 22 conditions the police had laid down. These included a condition that the fast would be ended within three days and that not more than 5000 people would gather at the venue.

Mr Hazare and his colleagues were presented before a court which sent them to judicial custody for seven days. Late last night, the prison officials said Mr Hazare had been released, but he had refused to leave unless he was given unconditional permission to sit on an indefinite fast at JP Park as he had originally planned.

Mr Hazare's aides, who were amongst those freed, told mediapersons outside the jail that he and RTI activist Arvind Kejriwal were continuing their fast.

Those freed yesterday evening included activists such as senior advocate and former Union Law Minister Shanti Bhushan, Ms Bedi and Mr Sisodia.

Mr Hazare, the two Bhushans, Mr Kejriwal and former Karnataka Lokayukta Justice N Santosh Hegde were among the five civil society members on the joint drafting committee set up by the Government in April, after a five-day fast by the former, to draft the Lokpal Bill for setting up an anti-corruption ombudsman in the country.

Since then, the Government has finalised a draft of the Bill which has been cleared by the Union Cabinet and was introduced earlier this month in Parliament. The Bill incorporates many of the suggestions made by Mr Hazare and his team, but not their main demands - that the Prime Minister and the higher judiciary be brought under the ambit of the Lokpal.

The Bill introduced by the Government has kept the Prime Minister out of the purview of the Lokpal as long as he or she is in office. Similarly, the higher judiciary has also been kept out of the ambit of the Lokpal and will be covered by a separate law that is on the anvil.

Mr Hazare had decided to go on an indefinite fast from today to press their demand that their version of the Bill be placed before Parliament.

The arrest of Mr Hazare evoked protests from civil society groups and non-governmental organisations and members of the general public from across the country.

Both Houses of Parliament had to be adjourned for the day yesterday, with the Opposition insisting on an immediate discussion on the issue through an adjournment motion.

The Government said Home Minister P Chidambaram was willing to make a statement, but later the Opposition said they wanted a statement from Prime Minister Manmohan Singh himself.

As a showdown looked imminent, Dr Singh chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) yesterday to take stock of the situation. This morning, the core group of the Congress held a meeting to consider the latest developments.

Mr Chidambaram and two of his ministerial colleagues Kapil Sibal and Ambika Soni had addressed a press conference yesterday to explain that the arrests were a "painful duty" the Government had to carry out to ensure the maintenance of law and order.

They acknowledged that people had the right to stage peaceful protests, which the Government respected, but this right was circumscribed by conditions imposed by the local authorities after taking into account a variety of factors.

Short Biography of Anna Hazare – Story of Army Driver becoming the Father of Nation Bigger than Bharat Ratna

Name - Kisan Bapat Baburao Hazare known as Anna Hazare

Birth date - 15 January 1940

Anna Hazare was born in Bhingar village in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra state in western India to Baburao Hazare and Laxmi Bai, an unskilled labourer family
He was raised by his childless aunt in Mumbai but could not continue beyond VII standard and had to quit midway due to problems.
He has two sisters.

He is unmarried.

1963
Anna Hazare started his career as a driver in the Indian Army.
During his 15-year tenure as a soldier, he was posted to several states like Sikkim, Bhutan, Jammu-Kashmir, Assam, Mizoram, Leh and Ladakh and braved challenging weathers.

Anna was greatly influenced by Swami Vivekananda’s teachings.

In the year 1965, Pakistan attacked India and at that time, Hazare was posted at the Khemkaran border. On November 12, 1965, Pakistan launched air attacks on Indian base and all of Hazare’s comrades became martyrs

In 1978, he took voluntary retirement from the 9th Maratha Battalion

After serving 15 Years in Army Anna took the voluntary retirement and returned to his native place in Ralegan Siddhi, in the Parner tehsil of Ahmednagar district.

Ralegan Siddhi falls in the drought-prone area with a mere 400 to 500 mm of annual rainfall.
There were no weirs to retain rainwater.
During the month of April and May, water tankers were the only means of drinking water.
Almost 80 per cent of the villagers were dependent on other villages for food grains. Residents used to walk for more than four to six kilometers in search of work

Hazare came across the work of one Vilasrao Salunke, a resident of Saswad near Pune who had started a novel project of water management through watershed development in a joint venture with the Gram Panchyat. Hazare visited the project and decided to implement it in Ralegan Siddhi.

He steered the villagers to begin working towards water conservation.
At the outset, they completed 48 Nala Bunding work, contour trenches, staggered trenches, gully plugs, meadows development and of forestation of 500 hectares of land. Thereafter, they constructed five RCC weirs and 16 Gabion Weirs.

This resulted in increase in the ground water level.

Hazare’s Ralegan Siddhi became the first role model of an ideal village from the worst village to an ideal village.

Anna rightly thought that Development is marred by corruption and started a new venture in 1991 called Bhrashtachar Virodhi Jan Aandolan (BVJA) or public movement against corruption.
It was found that some 42 forest officers had duped the state government for crores of rupees through corruption in confederacy.
Hazare submitted the evidences to the government but the latter was reluctant to take action against all these officers as one of the ministers of the ruling party was involved in the scam.

A distressed Hazare returned the Padmashree Award to the President of India and also returned the Vriksha Mitra Award given by then prime minister of India Rajiv Gandhi.

He further went on an indefinite hunger strike in Alandi on the same issue.
Finally, the government woke up and took action against the criminal and corrupt officers as well as six of the ministers were forced to resign and more than 400 officers from different government offices were sent back to home.

In 1995 Shiv Sena-BJP government came to power in the state
Hazare raised the issue of alleged massive land purchase by Gholap's wife Shashikala in Nashik between April to September 1996.
He forwarded the available documentary evidences in support of his allegations to then Maharashtra Governor P. C. Alexander
On 4 November 1997, Gholap filed a defamation suit against Hazare for accusing him of corruption.
On 9 September 1998, Anna Hazare was imprisoned in the Yerawada Jail after being sentenced to simple imprisonment for three months by the Mumbai Metropolitan Court all political parties, every one from Maharashtra except the BJP and the Shiv Sena came in support of him
Later due to public protest, outcry the Government of Maharashtra ordered his release from the jail.

The state government has opened cooperative societies, credit societies & urban banks everywhere in states.
However, the directors of such societies do the corruption and failed to pay back the basic amount to the members of the societies.
Thus poor people get cheated when Anna saw this he again began his agitation against this.

Hazare agitated for over eight months.
The result was that more than Rs 125 crore was recovered from defaulters and the members of such societies heaved a sigh of relief.
Recovery of around Rs. 400 crores is in the pipeline.

After this Anna started to fight for the Right to information act.
Government ignored Anna.
In 1997 Anna agitated in Azad Maidan in Mumbai to create mass public awareness about RTI amongst the youth.
Anna started to travel across state.

Government promised Anna they will pass RTI act but in reality they never did it.
For this Anna agitated ten times for this law.

When Anna saw that Government is not willing to pass this law Anna went on an indefinite hunger strike at Azad Maidan in the last week of July 2003.

After 12 days of Hunger strike in Azad Maidan the President of India signed the draft of the Right to Information Act and ordered the state government to implement it with effect from 2002. The same draft was considered as the base document for the making of the National Right to Information Act-2005.

In 2003 Anna Hazare raised corruption charges against 4 ministers of the Congress-NCP government
Government ignored him
Then Anna started his fast unto death agitation on 9 August 2003.
He ended his fast on 17 August 2003 after then chief minister Sushil Kumar Shinde formed a one man commission, headed by the retired justice P. B. Sawant to probe his charges.
The P. B. Sawant commission report was submitted on 23 February 2005, indicted Suresh Jain, Nawab Malik and Padmasinh Patil.
Suresh Jain and Nawab Malik resigned from the cabinet in March 2005

Jan Lokpal Bill
Agitation and hunger strike at the age of 73 and great victory against powerful and rich government

India against corruption movement

Santosh Hegde, a former justice of the Supreme Court of India and Lokayukta of Karnataka, Prashant Bhushan, a senior lawyer in the Supreme Court along with the members of the India against Corruption movement drafted an alternate bill, named as the Jan Lokpal Bill (People's Ombudsman Bill) with more stringent provisions and wider power to the Lokpal (Ombudsman)

On April 5 2011 Again Anna started second freedom struggle in India.
Anna wrote to everyone regarding Jan Lok Pal bill but no one listened him
After that on 5th April 2011 Started fast unto death to wake up the government for India.
Anna started war against corruption in India.
Hazare has started a fast unto death from 5 April 2011 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, to press for the demand to form a joint committee of the representatives of the Government and the civil society to draft a new bill with stronger penal actions and more independence to the Lokpal and Lokayuktas (Ombudsmen in the states)

In beginning Government of India ignored him, many people said many things, but as First day was over Anna got the support from every corner of India and
No one has expected such a support Anna will get for this bill.

Over night table were turned and after 4 days of discussion with government of India servants .
Finally Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh realized that demand of Anna is right and government accepted all the demands of Anna.
Thus Jantar Mantar saved from becoming another Tahir Square.

N A K Browne takes over as IAF chief

Ace fighter pilot Norman Anil Kumar Browne on Sunday took over as the 23rd chief of the Indian Air Force from Air Chief Marshal P V Naik, who retired after putting in 42 years of service.

Soon after taking over, Browne said his priorities as IAF chief would be to "enhance operational capability, continue with the modernisation drive of the force and most importantly to look after our people."

"To my mind that is the most important asset that we have," 59-year-old Browne, who has 3,100 flying hours to his credit, said.

He has taken over as the IAF chief at a time when the force is undergoing massive modernisation and is looking to induct a large number of new weapon platforms, including the 126 combat aircraft, the C-17 strategic heavy-lift aircraft along with a host of different types of choppers.

In his first address to air warriors, Browne said, "The IAF is well poised on path of transforming itself into a potent strategic force."

Outlining his vision statement for the IAF of 'People First Mission Always', Browne said, "While induction of state- of-the-art equipment and major systems leads to up-gradation of our combat potential, our people must receive our highest attention. "

“I firmly believe that each one has a duty to take care and look after people placed under our charge. It is sacred calling for all leaders, men and women, irrespective of rank and position. Our endeavour should be to empower our subordinates, by giving them required operational skills," he said.

Observing that the IAF was operating a broad spectrum of vintage equipment, Browne said this would test "our innovativeness and capabilities."

China launches communications satellite for Pakistan

China on Friday launched a communications satellite for Pakistan, as the two all weather allies opened a "new platform" in space collaboration to further cement their strategic relationship.

The successful launch of PAKSAT-1R from Xichang Satellite Launch Centre in China's Sichuan Province was witnessed by a high power Pakistan delegation, which included Defence Secretary Gen (retd) Syed Ather Ali and Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir.

The satellite built and financed by China will provide a range of services, including broadband Internet, telecom and broadcasting, besides defence applications.

The satellite will be deployed at 380E in the Geo-stationary orbit and it will replace the existing satellite PAKSAT-1.

It will be operated from Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) Ground Stations in Lahore and Karachi, APP news agency reported.

PAKSAT-1R has a design life of 15 years and will provide TV broadcasting, internet and data communication services across South and Central Asia, Eastern Europe, East Africa and the Far East.

This satellite now enables extending of communication services to all areas of Pakistan.

The satellite is China's first in-orbit delivery to Asian customers and also the first commercial satellite export to international users this year, state-run news agency reported.

‘Like’ Indian Railways on Facebook

When the whole world is on Facebook, then how can Indian Railways be away from it.

After the traffic police and the municipality, it is the railway stations’ turn to befriend you on Facebook. Realising its potential, the Delhi Division of Northern Railway has put the Capital’s stations on Facebook.

Only four stations of the Capital—New Delhi, Old Delhi, Nizamuddin and Anand Vihar—have been put on the social networking website.

The Facebook profile, sporting the logo “150 years of Indian Railway” as its profile picture, is ready to be launched officially. Currently, it is being tested among a few Railway officials and their friends in a sort of “Beta” form.

So now you can share your experience, whether its good or bad, with Indian Railways on facebook page. But what IR is looking forward is discussion and feedbacks rather than the complaints.

“We have several complaint forums. On Facebook, we want to discuss how to better our services,” said Ashwani Lohani, Divisional Railway Manager in Delhi.

Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer (Freight) will be monitoring the page round-the-clock and compile the responses. IR will updates the latest projects and other useful information. Even with the “Beta launch”, the page has earned around 352 “Likes” and the number is constantly growing.

Indian Railways already have an application – Indian rail reservation Enquiry where you can

* Search Trains
* Check Availability in Trains
* Check PNR
* Check Fare
* Check Route/Time Table
* Subscribe for Email, SMS, Gtalk PNR Alerts – FREE
* Location and timimg of a Running Train

I think this is a good move by government and IR to improve their services and get the feedbacks and comments from the general public. People know that various complaint forums are just for the name sake. But will facebook be able to help IR? Lets wait and watch..

You have to add two meta tags to the head section of your blogger template. One is the Meta description which describes your site and another one is Meta Keywords which tells about your site keywords(what your site is all about).

Here is how to add meta tags to your blogger(blogspot) blog:

1.Sign in to your blogger dashboard>Select the 'Design' link[see the screenshot below

2.Click on the 'Edit html' tab

Here is the code you have to add

DESCRIPTION HERE:Write your blog description
KEYWORDS:Write the keywords of your blog
AUTHOR NAME:Write the author's name(Your name)

3.Add the above code just after this [Look at the below screenshot

Don't forget to add description and keywords.
and save the changes.

IMPORTANT:

Many people are just filling the meta description with keywords. DON'T DO THAT. Google and other search engines will ban your site from the search engines list if you repeat your keywords too often. Make sure you don't repeat any keyword more than 3 times.

That's it!You have successfully added the metatags to your blogger(blogpsot) blog.If you want to check whether you added the meta tags correctly or not, just type 'meta tags analyzer tool' in the google and you will find so many sites which can check whether you have added the tags correctly or not.

How to Write Great Content When You Don’t Feel like It

If you’ve been reading blogs online for sometimes now you will know that people always have varied opinions. When I started blogging I battled with creating great content for my readers on a consistent basis and whenever I try to research to find a solution to my problem I came across at least two entirely different opinions. The first one stating that I shouldn’t force myself to write, and the other one stating that I should force myself to write.

It can be really confusing over time for you to know which advice to follow but after few months of blogging I have come to see that both aren’t exactly the best advice. The reason is that making yourself to write only when you feel like it isn’t really effective because you might not even feel like writing for a whole month, and forcing yourself to write is also very dangerous because it can crush your creativity.

Since the above are the two common advice out there to help those who find it difficult to write great content, how do you ensure you keep on creating great content for your readers even when you don’t feel like it? This article will be giving you a few tips to help you write great content even if you’re not in the mood.

You should know that the tips in this article aren’t just something I’m rehashing by reading another person’s article, but something that has consistently worked for me.

Know What Makes You Tick

The first step you have to take towards ensuring you’re always coming up with great content is to know what makes you tick. The reality is that as human beings we’re all different, and that is why there’s no one-size-fits-all advice for making you a better writer.

It’s all about knowing what inspires you. It’s all about knowing what motivates you and it’s all about knowing what puts you in the mood to write. You might not easily know what puts you in the mood to write, especially if you’re someone who hasn’t been observing yourself but you should try to understand what puts you in the mood and makes you your creative self.

For me, I become my best self when I start listening to gospel music. And in cases like this I’m not just moved by the music, but when it is in its loudest form. This brings about a rise in my spirit and I will have gotten a few ideas on a lot of cool things to do within that period – I have also noticed that I write better content when listening to music.

For you it can be something else. It’s all about you understanding what moves you the most and what has been the source of inspiration for most of your actions – and then trying to expose yourself to that thing whenever you’re not in the mood to write but you really need to write.

Avoid Creativity Destroyers

The next step towards ensuring you deliver your best content even when you’re not in the mood is by avoiding creativity killers. In most cases these creativity killers even appear to be your best friend but unknown to you they are silently destroying your career.

You might want to ask yourself and observe to see what you’re doing when you’re supposed to be writing that great content. What is it that you love most and is the only thing that prevents you from delivering your creative best?

For me, it is watching movies. I have spent as much as 14 hours at a stretch watching movies before, and once I discover a movie I really love then my sleep is something small to sacrifice until I have finished watching that movie. For you it might not be watching movies, it might be your favorite sport, it might be chatting with friends and checking your emails on a regular basis. In a case like this you need to do things differently by ensuring you are not in a place where you can be affected by this creativity killer.

If your creativity killer is watching movies like I do then you need to ensure you are nowhere near a TV whenever you’re writing and if your creativity killer is the internet you might want to be writing your blog posts on a paper first whenever you’re free or you might want to disconnect your internet for sometime while making use of some cool distraction free software to write like Dark Room (for Windows) and WriteRoom (for Mac).

Utilize Your Favorite Blogs

Another tactic that might help you write your most popular blog posts, if properly used, is making effective use of your favorite blogs.

Try to write down a list of 2-3 of your most favorite blogs online and then visit these blogs to see which of their blog posts are the most popular (you can easily see this in their sidebar). Take a look at these blog posts and see what they have in common, you should also try to read these posts to see how they were written. In this process you would have gotten an idea or two about what to write and it can even result in your blog post going really viral.

The great thing about this particular tactic is that the blogs you’re trying to copy might not necessarily be in your niche. What matters most is their headline formula and how they write their posts.

I’ve used this technique on this blog before, and it works like magic every time I use it.

Read, and Read, and Read

This is probably the most important tip in this article, especially if you’re someone who loves to write a lot.

I write hundreds of articles every month and doing all that without reading might be really disastrous. I have now made it a duty to be reading for an average of at least 2 hours daily and aside for me gaining a lot of insightful tips that can help me improve my life I’m also learning how to write more effectively.

By reading you will be able to see the pattern with which things are written, you will be able to improve your grammar and vocabulary skills and you will be able to get ideas about what works and what doesn’t.

As writers we are like a well full of water. When we write water is drawn out of the well, and when we read water is returned. Spending all our time writing without caring to read will make that well run dry and spending all of our time reading without writing will make that well overflow thus resulting in disaster.
